The city of Milan

Milan is a city that gives the cue for every kind of tourism.
The city was founded by a celtic people called Insubri, and along its history it saw different dominations, from the Romans to the Longobards, the Lordship of the Visconti family and the Spanish domination, the Habsburg Monarchy, then Napoleon, until it became the first capital of the Reign of Italy. During the Second World War, Milan endured the most serious bombings never endured by an Italian city.
This history, rich and varied, left in the city a lot of monuments, palaces, churches, museums; among the most visited and important we remember the Cathedral, symbol of the city, with its majestic spires, the Sforza Castle, the church of Sant'Ambrogio, dedicated to the patron saint of the city and the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, famous all over the world because inside of its convent we can admire the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.
But Milan is also a modern city, capital of fashion and of design, it is seat of the most important Stock Exchange of Italy, is seat of the most important Italian and foreign banks.
Milan is seat of the Grande Fiera (Big Fair); in Milan there is the famous theatre La Scala and the spectacular stadium dedicated to Giuseppe Meazza, but called San Siro by everybody, one of the most famous and prestigious football stadium of Europe.
In Milan you can satisfy every desire you have, because today the city is an important commercial and industrial center, has one of the greatest university, it is a dynamic city, that in 2015 will accommodate the Universal Exposition Expo 2015.
